Q: What mindset shift is key for women to lead themselves powerfully?

Sarah’s answer:

“There are many valuable day-to-day mindset shifts, but the most profound shift—the one that truly transforms how we lead—is resolving the deepest meaning of our lives.

Some call this purpose. I prefer the word mission. Why? Because “purpose” sounds functional, like something a tool has. But we’re not tools—we are beings. We are here not just to function, but to evolve. With my background in applied science, I see one universal biological and spiritual truth: we are here to learn and to grow. Evolution at its core. And once we do that, we have a choice—to pass on that wisdom. To lift the bar for the next generation. That’s powerful leadership. Not just for self, but for humanity.

It’s not about finding your function—it’s about rising into your mission.”

Q: How has nature shaped your view of resilience and mental strength?

Sarah’s Answer:

“Living in Australia, I’ve seen firsthand how nature doesn’t just survive tough times—it adapts, grows, and even thrives in them. One of the most powerful examples for me is how our native eucalyptus trees respond to drought.

During some of the hardest, driest periods, I watched as these trees didn’t just cling to survival—they grew new leaves. Even more incredible, I saw fresh seedlings sprouting beneath them.

That hit me hard. Here they were, not just recovering but reproducing—renewing life during the hardest of times. To me, that wasn’t just biology. That was a deeply meaningful symbol of resilience. Yes, scientifically, it’s an adaptation to Australia’s tough, variable climate. But emotionally, it showed me that growth isn’t the opposite of hardship—sometimes it’s born from it.

Nature reminds me daily that getting back up after tough times isn’t just possible—it’s part of the rhythm of life. Whether it’s native plants resprouting or animals adapting, the natural world constantly reflects what we’re capable of as humans when we stop resisting the season we’re in and start learning from it.”
