Sarah Commens – Adaptive & Trauma-Informed Life Coaching
My Approach
I practise Adaptive Coaching – a mix of looking back to understand patterns and looking forward to create change.
Each session is trauma-informed, meaning it’s paced gently and safely. I don’t diagnose or label — I help you reconnect how you think, feel, and act so you can lead yourself with clarity and calm.
Learning matters — that’s where transformation begins.
Session Structure
Every coaching series follows an Adaptive Arc — what happened, what was learned, what’s next.
Together we explore both reflection (looking back) and action (looking forward) so that insight always translates into real-world change.
I have two structured tools that we may use if they’re relevant:
🧭 My Inner Compass™ Roadmap — a 6-question framework for finding meaning and direction when you feel LOST.
⚙️ The Stuck Assessment — a 10-factor diagnostic tool that identifies what’s blocking your traction and forward momentum when you feel STUCK.
Each tool typically takes around two 75-minute sessions to complete, though some sessions simply follow the Adaptive Arc organically.
Coaching Style
I combine Transformational Coaching (gently “walking beside” you to help you see your blind spots and find your own answers – so you gain maximum empowerment) with Transactional Coaching (for fast, proven, step-by-step direction when needed).
This balance keeps the process both insightful and actionable.
Before and After
Problem: LOST (meaning & direction)
Before Coaching - Feeling unsure of who you are or where you’re heading. Life lacks fulfillment.
After Coaching - Reconnected to your authentic self (inner truth), strong sense of purpose, clarity about your direction and next steps.
Problem: STUCK (traction & momentum)
Before Coaching: Aware of what you want but unable to move — you keep circling the same loops, same frustrations.
After Coaching: You have momentum, solving problems and making decisions, confident and making progress.
